Ralph, Minnesota State Fair.

"I'm not going to smile," which made absolutely no sense because why wouldn't you smile when you're an American hero and, on top of that, enjoying Military Appreciation Day at the Minnesota State Fair complete with a parade.

The word "hero" gets thrown around a lot nowadays, and it wasn't said exactly what Ralph did in WWII (and in Korea and Vietnam to boot) but there's enough information about the horrors of those conflicts to deeply honor any individual who served in any capacity.

What's more, Ralph isn't done working. Since the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (the 4th largest Military cemetery in the United States) doesn't have a boiler guy, Ralph still does that for them. And, he was quick to note, he's the oldest living member of the Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association (MEBA) union.

Thank you Ralph. For many things.
